It makes the blanket feel luxe and high-end plus it ups the cuddle factor. I love that it is double sided as well so no matter how it lays you are surrounded by soft Minky. You are definitely getting what you are paying for. Also, can we talk about the color!? Like how gorgeous is the crème brûlée? We chose this to match our bedroom, and it does just that. She normally purchases Minky blankets from a different store and so I wanted to try this brand on Amazon to compare. Well, this blanket is just as good, if not better. We got the black jaguar blanket and it’s such a cool color and my toddler grabbed it right when we opened it.Yes these types of blankets are pricier, but they are some of the softest material out there! Both sides of the blanket are a plushy faux fur. The fur is a little slippery, but the blanket usually stays in place during the night.I have the Large size, which measures 60 inches by 72 inches. For me, this is the perfect size for using the blanket on the couch and then taking it to bed. I have a double bed, the blanket covers me from feet to chin, and across the mattress. The Large probably isn’t big enough for two people in bed, but this blanket is so soft and cuddly, who would want to share it?When piled on my lap on the couch, the blanket has a little weight to it. It’s not like a true weighted blanket; it doesn’t feel extra heavy when used in bed. No matter where I use it, the blanket is warm and cozy. It’s made from 100% polyester.The blanket did not shed in the washer or dryer, nor on me. As long as you follow the washing and drying instructions on the care tag, the blanket should stay soft and fluffy. The care tag actually looks nice, a black embroidered tag instead of an ugly white one. Machine wash cold on gentle cycle, and dry with ultra low heat. No fabric softener.The blanket does have a slight scent to it despite washing it.This blanket by Minky Designs is very soft. It was easy to wash and dry and did not fall apart while washing. It is very well made and seems to be made of high quality materials. It is nice and warm, too and keeps me warm all night.The only issue I have with it, is that it is very slick and slides off the bed while I’m sleeping. It’s slightly heavier so when part of it starts to slide off, the rest follows with it.Other than that, this blanket is great. It looks nice, feels nice and is a good, quality blanket.
